Sentences, however, may contain direct and indirect objects in addition to the phrasal verbs. Phrasal verbs are particularly frequent in the English language. A phrasal verb often has a meaning which is different from the original verb.” 1.2. One verb is combined with a preposition (like on, in, under) or an adverb (like up, down, away). Sometimes a phrasal verb can have a meaning that is very different to the meaning of at least one of those two or three words separately.
